Overview

RHI Magnesita is searching for a qualified and experienced Benefits Manager to lead the administration of its health and welfare programs in North America. This position is based at our North American headquarters in York, PA.

Responsibilities and duties

The following is a summary of the main responsibilities of the Benefits Manager position. Additional duties may be assigned through project work, auditing, or additional oversight of programs:

  • Responsible for the administration of health and welfare programs for active and retiree population for RHI Magnesita North America.
  • Respond to the day-to-day needs of active and retired team members about enrollment, plan questions, and claims concerns.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for benefits brokers, carriers and third party administrators for the health and welfare plans including medical, prescription, dental, vision, disability, life, 401(k) and pension plans.
  • Reviews plan details and performance analysis with brokers and TPAs. Considers plan modifications based on analysis of performance and team member feedback. Presents well-thought out and researched recommendations to the benefits committee and management teams.
  • Ensures all required filings and employee notices are complete, accurate and properly documented for the highest level of compliance.
  • Assure administration of concurrent FMLA and disability program effectively.
  • Responsible for the company's approach to COBRA and HIPPA training, policy documentation, and compliance.
  • Manages the work of one direct report, a Benefits Administrator.

Required education and experience

  • AA, BA or BS in Human Resources Management or related business program from an accredited college or university
  • High school diploma or GED plus accredited certification, i.e. SHRM-CP, considered in lieu of college degree
  • 5 years of benefits administration

Preferred education and experience

  • Accredited certification in human resources practices like CEBS, SHRM-CP or similar
  • Strong preference for experience supporting a multi-national manufacturing business

Additional skills

  • High proficiency with MS Office Suite of products, specifically MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • High proficiency with use of an electronic timekeeping system, HRIS, or payroll system including data entry, data changes, and report analysis. RHI Magnesita uses Ceridian.
  • Ability to interact with staff, partners, and the general public with a calm and professional demeanor, pleasant and clear tone of voice, and follow through with their requests.
  • Attention to detail on instructions from team members or partners
